Old brickworks transforms in new brewery

The Musketeers are building a new brewery in Sint-Gillis-Waas. It is a true tourist attraction for Waasland region. People can visit the brewery and discover the Belgian specialty beers, which can be tasted in the brand new brasserie where great dishes will be served as well to complement the beers. The new brewery is located on the grounds of the Wase Golf and near the junctions of walking and cycling routes in the Waasland.

From crafts to crafts

We had been looking for a suitable location to brew our specialty beers for years. At the moment, we’re brewing in the Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi. Two years ago, our eyes fell on the old brickworks in the Reepstraat in Sint-Gillis-Waas. The traditional site had been abandoned for years. We saw this as an opportunity to give the building another traditional craft destination. The original brickworks ‘De Herleving’ is therefore integrated as much as possible in the design of the new brewery.

We expect to lay the first stone in early 2017. Everything should be ready by 2018. The Antwerp architect agency Verdickt & Verdickt is responsible for the construction of the new brewery. This agency specializes in repurposing of historical sites.
