When I first heard the name Tango, I thought of Argentine dancing instead of hops! But either way, Troubadour Magma Tango guarantees a festive evening!
ANDRÉE
Troubadour Magma Tango, the yearly special edition of Troubadour Magma, is a "single hop", meaning the beer is brewed with only one hop variety. This offers a unique opportunity to discover the specific characteristics of this hop variety. Instead of a mix of hop aromas and flavours, you get a pure and unfiltered experience of everything this hop has to offer.
Tango hops are known for their complex and inviting aromas. You notice clear characteristics of ‘sweet fruit’ (red berries, cassis) but aromas of citrus are less emphatic than in typical IPA hops. This hop variety has a link to classic hop varieties and this is also reflected in the aroma: you experience green, spicy and grassy notes. The flavour profile is dominated by lively notes, complemented by a hint of berry sweetness. The hop bitterness is present but not overwhelming, making for a balanced and pleasant drinking experience. The finish is refreshing, with a slight dryness that invites another sip.
Brewers talking
We chose the hop Tango for this special edition of Troubadour Magma. This hop is a relatively new and innovative hop variety that originated in Germany. While this is not a variety usually used for “single hop” beers, it is one that lends itself well to it: Tango offers distinct aroma characteristics and a sufficiently high bitterness. A balance that is both refreshing and intriguing!
